Calvary Missions Team

 

Mission Statement: Calvary Missions Team equips and engages the congregation so that all may be involved in direct service to our neighbors locally, nationally, and globally We are ALL called to serve God and neighbor. The Missions Team works to empower and equip the entire congregation and community to live out that calling! We are committed to providing opportunities for local, regional, and international mission.
 
Local
  • Blessing Bags (Youth led mission providing bags of food, water, and toiletries for the homeless)
  • Christmas Giving (Support Variety of Children/Youth Needs)
  • CROP Walk (Raises money for food and water. 25% is given to Mt Airy NET)
 
 
Nationally
 
Camp Joy at Camp Harmison, Berkley Springs, WV
During this annual summer mission trip our youth and leaders have the opportunity to reach out to homeowners who are financially struggling, elderly or disabled, and who own a home in need of repair, no matter the reason. The work sites include Hancock, MD; Warfordsburg, PA; and Berkeley Springs, Great Cacapon and Paw Paw, WV.
 
This Year’s Trip is July 14  – 20, 2019
Join us for a week of serving, fellowship, and fun.  This week will allow youth to serve those less fortunate in our community while gaining skills that they will be able to use well into the future.

Globally
 
Every year we participate in Rise Against Hunger, an international relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief – reaches worldwide to provide relief in five core areas: Hunger, Health, Refugees, Emergencies, and Relief Supplies. Calvary participates with UMCOR in a variety of ways throughout the year.
