Calvary UMC is pleased to offer a free hot meal once a week to everyone in the community. We also need community members to help serve.

The Menu for God’s Kitchen, Thursday, February 14th is:

Chicken Divan

Glazed carrots

Butternut squash soup

Hot dogs (for kids)

We serve dinner every Thursday at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Please pass the word to anyone who might want to join us for this meal whether it’s for financial reasons, because you just didn’t feel like cooking that night or you just want to enjoy the company of others.
Come join us for dinner! No RSVP required, just show up!

Volunteer for God’s Kitchen

If you would like to volunteer one week to help set up, cook, or clean up, please click here to sign-up online or contact Pat Pelzer at or 301-829-1969.
Policy for children and youth volunteers:
We are pleased to have children and youth volunteer to help with God’s Kitchen as long as they have an adult present with them. The reason we can’t have them volunteer without an adult is because we don’t have chaperons at the meal to supervise the youth. We want to ensure the safety of the children and youth, but we can’t do that without an adult available to chaperon them.
The exception to this rule is youth who are over 16 years old, have a driver’s license, and have their own transportation to and from the meal. In this case, we would need a signed permission slip for the youth to volunteer on their own.
