Thy Kingdom Come
Join us in participating May 9th – May 19th

by praying with us and churches around the world.

Below you will find resources recommended by Pastor Mark for praying during this time.

10 Ways to participate through prayer

1. Pray for 5:

We all know people who don’t know the love of Jesus for themselves. Write down the first names of 5 people you know, and pray for them every day from May 19-19. Pray that they will know God’s love in Jesus Christ for themselves.

2. Pray for the Holy Spirit:

As we get ready to celebrate Pentecost on May 19th, pray for the Holy Spirit to come powerfully on us at Calvary, and especially on this year’s confirmands (Ben, Cooper, Ella, Eli, Max, and Ryan) . You can simply pray, “Come, Holy Spirit.” You can also listen to this beautiful setting of that prayer from a group in France, or to this hymn by Charles Wesley.

3. Cheeky Pandas!

Have children? Know someone who has children? Share the Cheeky Pandas with them. Cheeky Pandas is an online animated series that teaches kids about following Jesus. Our family loves the Cheeky Pandas! I’d start with this video, but you can find all the episodes here.

4. Kairos Prayer Vigil:

Our Kairos Prison Ministry team is re-entering a prison for the first time since the pandemic to minister to and with residents. Sign up here to pray for them for one or more 30-minute slots during the prayer vigil May 16th-19th

5. Community Prayer Walk:

Join us on Saturday, May 18 (time TBD), to walk the neighborhood around Calvary and pray for our Mt. Airy Community. For those who don’t want to walk or have limited mobility, we will also have a guide to pray with us by walking the labyrinth in Calvary’s upper parking lot.

6. Pray the Lord’s Prayer: Join me in praying the Lord’s Prayer at 6pm every day from May 9-19. Set a calendar reminder for yourself (I know I need one!).

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, forever. Amen.

There’s an App for That! Download the Thy Kingdom Come 2024 App here. You’ll get access to videos and other content every day from May 9-19.

9. Make a dish to share for our Pentecost Potluck after worship on May 19th.

10. Plan to wear red for Pentecost:
